Kinesiology is my main tool to communicate with your body although I use an integrative approach with other modalities, including Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), BioSET, Nutritional and dietary advice, Breath Work, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Bach Flower Remedies, Psych-K, and Homeopathy, as well as drawing on my practice of Integral Yoga, to create a space for your body to tell me what it needs in order to provide a tailor-made programme of healing.

What is Kinesiology?

There are many different types of Kinesiology and I am trained in a few of them. The one I primarily use is Systematic Kinesiology and integrate the other forms as I need them.

Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology) is a holistic system of natural health care that uses muscle testing to communicate directly with the body. If we compare ourselves to an electrical circuit board – our body’s energy is the electricity running through us, and when one part of the circuit gets blocked or overloaded, it blows a fuse. Our muscles are like switches that turn on and off in response to changes in our circuitry.

When the muscle is not switching on and off as normal this indicates an imbalance in the body and, as every muscle in the body is related to an organ, a nutrition, an emotion and an energy meridian, we can easily find the cause of any imbalance, whether it is physical, emotional, chemical or energetic, by testing the ability of various muscles to resist gentle pressure.

Kinesiology balances applies a wide range of gentle yet powerful techniques, including targeted lymph massage, acupressure, gentle holding of points on the body, gentle realignment techniques, working with the energy meridians, emotional stress release techniques, nutritional support, dietary and lifestyle advice, and an integration of techniques from a variety of other healing modalities to help the body return to optimum health.

Muscle testing is a powerful biofeedback mechanism, which allows the kinesiologist to assess a person’s response to any stimulus. There are seven pathways in the body that work together intricately to create balance and health. These are the:

  • Nervous System (Nerves and Communication)

  • Lymphatic System (Cleansing and Immunity)

  • Vascular System (Blood and Nourishment)

  • Cerebrospinal Fluid System (Brain and Spine)

  • Meridian System (Acupuncture Energy)

  • Lymbic System (Emotional)

  • Digestive System (Nutrition and Elimination)

Working with these seven pathways and the biofeedback from the muscle testing we can assess what is happening in all areas of the body and determine what your body needs to restore balance and harmony and maximise the possibility for optimum health.

A fundamental concept of Kinesiology is the Triad of Health, comprising Biochemical, Emotional, Energetic and Structural Health. If there is an imbalance in one area, it will affect the other two and this has an impact on a person’s overall energy and state of health. To find out more, click here. (Paragraphs on each area)

Kinesiology is renowned for being able to uncover and provide support for the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means.
