Reiki (pronounced ray-key) originated in Japan and means “universal life force energy”. All life depends on this universal life force and Eastern practices from Acupuncture, Tai Chi to Yoga use this energy to promote health and well being. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki is a simple form of healing through the laying on of hands to channel the energy through your body. The laying on of hands for healing has been around for millennia and used in most religions and philosophies. It is beneficial for stress reduction, relaxation and to promote healing.

Combined with the use of sacred symbols the energy can be intensified, used for distance healing and to restore balance, not just to the body but to a variety of situations. I use it for everything from the mundane (finding a parking space, a seat on the train, or a smooth long distance journey); to the intense (helping someone cross over to the other side, resolving relationship issues with colleagues and loved ones). The benefits of Reiki occur on many levels.

Reiki is a gentle energy and can be used safely on all ages, including newborn babies and pregnant women.
